Coffee with a view - La Banchina

Refshaleøen is an old industrial area close to Christianshavn, which has been a no mans land with abandoned buildings for a long time.  I have loved the area ever since I was introduced to it during my study at The Architecture school, which lies just 5 minutes away.  There I have spent a lot of time there exploring the desolate raw area getting inspiration for projects I worked on at the time.

Now the area is blooming, in the way that small businesses, cofées and creative approaches are moving out there.  I hope Refsaleøren will still continue being the raw explorations place despite these changes - because that is the area biggest charm.  One of the great new approaches, is this cool and unformal coffé/vinebar called La Banchina.  It is located in a small cabin house just outside of the harbourside and has a wooden pier where people can jump out in the water after having taking a sauna.  I haven't tried that yet, but I have tried their perfekt creation of Cortado, their white wine and Salmon salad dishes - all perfekt and with the top of that - a view out to the seafront life.

It is a laid back place with a lot of charisma and I am looking forward to spend some evenings there with a glass of wine and perhaps a sunset as a view.
